About the Project
Women in Transition serves displaced homemakers in Passiac County through services, which prepare
women to reenter the workforce, develop long-term self-sufficiency and make wise decisions for
themselves and their families. Services include:
- Supportive Counseling
- Vocational Assessments
- Job Readiness and Job Search Skills
- Resume Writing
- Interviewing
- Internet Job Searches, etc
- Job Club
- On-site Computer Training &
- Support Groups
Workshop topics include:
- Self-esteem
- Assertiveness
- Legal issues in separation and divorce
- Parenting
- Life Skills and other
- Family and Career Development Issues
The Program emphasizes personal decision making and planning in a supportive environment. Women
are connected to appropriate educational and social service referrals for help with housing, health
concerns, ESL and GED, advanced training, child care and other concerns affecting their ability to
obtain employment.
Center is open 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday and Monday evening. Services are free to
eligible women. Please call for an appointment.
