Career and Life Planning Center assists women who have traditionally worked in the
home without pay. Due to the death, separation, desertion, or divorce from a spouse,
they must now re-enter the workforce. After an initial meeting with a Career
Counselor, the client's needs are assessed and a plan is identified. The Center
offers a support group, workshops, and seminars, and a 30 hour computer course, all
at no cost to assist clients. Computer tutoring is available . A Job Developer helps
clients with job search skills and maintains contact with many of the County's
employers. Women's Wardrobe is a service of the Center providing women with
attractive outfits suitable for job interviews.
The Center is funded through the NJ Division on Women along with support from the ESC. |
